Nellie Louise Haynes, 81, of Tengren Avenue in Claremont, NH died March 3, 2014, peacefully at her home.
She was born in Bellows Falls, VT on February 13, 1933 the daughter of LeRoy and Alice (Greene) Clark and has resided in Claremont for the past 55 years.
Nellie spent her life as a devoted wife, working right alongside her husband on their dairy farm, where they raised eight children as well as a number of foster children. For years she served in many capacities as a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was also a leader in 4-H clubs and hosted Good News Clubs in the big farmhouse. With boundless energy she used her creative talents in a craft business, Haynes Hobbies, which funded many traveling adventures for her and her sweetheart, in their retirement years.
The surviving family includes her husband, David Allen Haynes whom she married on July 8, 1951; three sons, John Haynes and Peter Haynes both of Claremont and Thomas Haynes of Wetumpka, AL; five daughters, Ruth Haynes, currently a missionary in Uganda, Africa, Sharon Cota of Burnham, ME, Diana Cameron of New Brunswick, Canada, Susanna Kresina of Garland, ME and Judith Sherburne of Durham, ME.; twenty-four grand-children; thirty great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Clark of Langdon, NH; also several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Marion Pierce of Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 8th at 1PM at the Calvary Baptist Church, on Maple Avenue in Claremont with Pastor Stephen Cook, officiating.
A reception will follow in the church hall.
Interment will be in the spring, at the Village Cemetery in Surry, NH.
Arrangements are with the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont NH.
