Alan G. Smith of Charlestown, NH, passed away on September 15, 2025, after battling health issues.  He was born on May 24, 1953, in Springfield, VT, to George H. Smith and Ruth (Bailey) Smith.  Alan was a graduate of Fall Mountain High School.

He worked for several years for the Charlestown Water Department and several years for the Fall Mountain School District where he retired from.  Alan liked to travel, fish, and gamble.

Alan was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Loretta (Smith) Gosselin.

He is survived by his sisters, Faye (Smith) Butterfield, Sally (Smith) Merrill, and Nancy (Smith) Starr and her husband, John and several nieces and nephews.

Alan will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor.  Alan was well liked and had lots of friends.

A graveside service will be held on October 1st at 1 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery on East Street in Charlestown, NH.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Valley Animal Protection, 60 Cummings Avenue, Charlestown, NH 03603.
