Barbara A. Ferland, 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after bravely struggling with her health for the past seven years.

Born on April 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Olga Nash and Roy Young. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Lucian Ferland; her brother, Doug Young; and her very special Aunt Elizabeth Quimby.

Barb shared a love of travel with her late husband, Lucian. Some of their favorite places to visit were Hampton Beach, Lake George, Las Vegas, and Tennessee. She treasured those trips and the memories they made together.

She was a devoted racing fan and made many cherished trips to Loudon with her family over the years. Her favorite drivers included Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Martin Truex Jr. Race weekends were special times filled with excitement and family bonding.

Barb was a longtime member of the Stevens alumni community and a loyal member of the Moose Lodge. Throughout her life, she worked at Idlenot Dairy, King's Department Store, Ames Department Store, Claremont Flock, and Holson Photo Company. She also dedicated many meaningful years to working at Bluff School in the reading program, where she touched the lives of many children.

She is survived by her loving sons, Stephen and his wife Cheryl, and Kevin and his significant other Melissa (Seymour); her cherished grandsons, Garrett Ferland and Jeffrey Aubin; her best friend, Lucy; her beloved little dog, who was wonderful company; and her special young friend, Gracie, who helped keep her mind off her pain. Barb and Gracie loved to sing together and share long, heartfelt talks.

Barbara will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, her loyalty, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 19th from 5 to 7pm at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20th at 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
