Benjamin John Chapman, Claremont, NH passed away May 9th, 2024.  Born July 22, 1949 to the late Lloyd Chapman and Theresa Davidson Chapman in Claremont, NH. , he  graduated from St. Mary High School, and after high school went on to college and received a degree in engineering.  He then attended Babson College and earned an MBA from Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business.

Ben served as Dean of Claremont Vocational School for several years.  He later passed the Uniform CPA Examination to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant, specializing in taxation and engineering accounting.  He started his own CPA business in Claremont, where he  successfully practiced accounting for forty-four years.

Ben was a man born with entrepreneurial spirit. Even at a young age, he looked for opportunities to make money, such as his venture into raising chickens!
Ben was well known in the investment community and known as an avid and shrewd investor in the stock market. Business magazines such as Forbes featured him in articles.
Ben was a collector of fine art and was especially interested in 19th century paintings. He would travel thousands of miles to acquire a painting that he wanted for his collection. He could be found at some of the finest auction galleries, viewing and purchasing art as well as making friends with some of the nation's leading art collectors.

Gardening was also a source of enjoyment for Ben.

Survivors include a brother William of Claremont, a sister Ann of Newport, NH and a brother Randall of Rock Hill , SC.  A nephew and 3 nieces also survive him.

A graveside service for Ben will be held at West Claremont Burial Grounds, Old Church Road, Claremont, NH  on  Friday, May 24th at 11am.
