Bonnie Lee Rivard, 80, of Ascutney, VT was called to her Heavenly Father on June 7th at the Sullivan County Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family following a period of failing health.  Bonnie was born on April 2, 1944, the daughter of Bernard and Olive (LaClair) Amell.

She graduated from Stevens High School and went on to obtain her Registry of Nursing Degree from Worcester Memorial School of Nursing.  She married William J. Rivard in 1964 and moved to Norfolk, VA where he was stationed and worked in Norfolk Children's Hospital.  After Bill's discharge from the Navy, they moved to CT, where she worked at Manchester Hospital and later, they returned to their home state of NH.  She later retired as Director of Nursing at Sullivan County Nursing Home.

Besides being a devoted and caring nurse, Bonnie had a beautiful voice, was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook and always entertained the family with their favorite recipes.

Besides her parents and stepfather, Ernest Garceau, Bonnie was predeceased by her husband, William J. Rivard in 1985 and her brother, Robert Amell in 2018.

Survivors include a son, Daniel (Tammy) of Claremont, a daughter, Deidre of Windsor, VT, a sister, Cheryl Broughan (Peter) of Gill, MA, a sister, Pamela Levasseur (Stuart) of South Royalton, VT, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Amell of Claremont.

Bonnie had 4 nephews and several grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Belinda Rivard, Aidan (Sarah) Hayes, Taryn (Andrew) Gaiotti, Skylar Rivard (Cedric Gray), Hunter, Elaina and Ronin Rivard, Terry Standridge, Cody Dellabough and Alexis Richards. Also 12 great grandchildren.

Bonnie was a member of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Days Saints of Ascutney, VT.

Calling hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Monday, June 17th from 9 to 10:30 AM with a burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West Claremont at 11 AM.
