Charles E. Come Sr. of Claremont, NH, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2022, in Floral City, Florida. Charles and his wife enjoyed 21 special winters in Florida. He was born in Wells River, VT, on May 21, 1935, son of James and Rita (Gilbert) Come.

Charles enlisted in the United States Army directly out of high school and served his time in the Army Corp of Engineers. He owned and operated Chuck's Auto Service for over 50 years and had the privilege of having his son work with him until his retirement in 1998. Charles was a life member of several organizations: the American Legion, where he served ten years with the Honor Guard, the Elks where he worked and donated his time, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, where he had the honor of serving as the state director of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them camping and fishing

Charles is survived by his long-time love, friend, and confidant, Yvonne. Charles and Yvonne were high school sweethearts, married on November 5, 1955. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years together. He is also survived by his children, Debra Lathrop and her partner Wayne Amell, Linda Perron and her husband Roger, Leslie Minckler and her husband Kent, and Charles Come Jr and his partner Laura Sajnacki,12 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, one brother, James Come Jr and his wife, Marilyn. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, Roger Grenier.

Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home 146 Broad Street Claremont NH on Saturday, February 5, 2022, calling hours from 1-2 PM with a prayer service by Father Arockia Antony immediately after. Following the prayer service, there will be a gathering for a celebration of life and remembrance at the American Legion on Broad St.  A private burial will be held in the spring with military honors.

The family is requesting face masks be worn by all in attendance.
