Christopher Bernard Bacher, 85, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025 after a battle with cancer, in Claremont, New Hampshire, the town where he was born on May 30, 1940. A quiet and thoughtful man, Christopher lived a life marked by service, ingenuity, and deep care for those around him.

After graduating from high school, Christopher joined the United States Navy, serving aboard a ship in the boiler department. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for machine tooling—a skill that would shape his professional path. His commitment to service continued through his involvement with the National Guard. As a member of the 744th Transportation Unit, he participated in Operation Desert Storm and ultimately retired with the rank of Sergeant.

Christopher was known for his inventive spirit and hands-on approach to life. A true do-it-yourself kind of man, he found joy in creating tools and solving problems. Whether it was fixing something around the house or lending a hand to someone in need, Chris was always ready to help. Friends often recalled how he quietly stepped in when others needed assistance—never seeking recognition but always making a difference.

Later in life, Christopher developed a deep interest in Bible teachings and became a devoted member of the Claremont Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses alongside his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Morrill Bacher. Their shared faith became an important part of their lives together. Those who knew them witnessed the strength of their bond and the gentle way Chris cared for Betty during her final years—a devotion that left a lasting impression on her son Gary Morrill and his wife Peggy.

Christopher's life was shaped by early challenges that taught him valuable lessons about compassion and integrity. He often reflected on how those experiences influenced the kind of man he chose to become—one who treasured life, health, and friendship above all else.

He is lovingly remembered by his stepson Gary Morrill and Gary's wife Peggy; as well as special friends Gary and Barbara DePoyster, and the Claremont Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Betty, his sister Christina "Tina" Bacher, and a half sister in Poland, Elenor.

A memorial service honoring Christopher's life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Claremont, New Hampshire on August 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
