Claire Poisson Wells died Saturday evening October 17, 2026 at Valley Regional Hospital. She was born July 6, 1952, in Claremont, New Hampshire, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her love for family, her caring heart, and her quiet strength. Born and raised in Claremont, Claire remained deeply connected to the community she called home throughout her life.
Claire was the beloved wife of Jeffrey B. Wells, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Their enduring partnership was a testament to the commitment and love they shared through life’s joys and challenges.
She was a proud mother to her two children, Steven Wells, and his wife, Christie Getman, and Lynn Little, and her husband, Mark Little. Her greatest joy was her family, and nothing meant more to Claire than the time she spent with those she loved. She was a cherished nana to Rylee, Olivia, Brady Little, and Griffin Getman-Wells, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Claire was the cherished daughter of Eva T. Poisson and Normand G. Poisson, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brothers David, Dennis, and Donald Poisson.
A proud graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1970, Claire continued her education at Claremont Vocational Technical College. She later went on to work as the office manager at Claremont Pediatric Specialists with Dr. Lanzer and Dr. Blair, as well as Associates in Medicine/Pediatric.
Claire found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved camping with friends and family, getting lost in the pages of a good book, and being part of the Jaycee Women. Above all else, Claire cherished her family. They were her world, her greatest joy, and what meant the most to her. The memories she created with those she loved will forever be treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.
In 2015, Claire began an 11-year battle with cancer. Throughout this difficult journey, she continued to be surrounded by the love of her family. Her battle was a testament to her strength and perseverance, and her life will be remembered for so much more than the illness she faced. Claire’s story is one of love, resilience, devotion, and the lasting impact of a woman who meant so much to so many.
Claire’s life was a gift to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people who mattered most.
She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
