Dale K. Picard died on Monday October 1st 2024 at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene NH after a sudden illness. He was born January 24th 1953 to Dorlon and Maxine (Stone) Picard, and grew up in Claremont. After graduating Stevens High School, he entered the Marine Corps in August of 1971. He worked as a cook and in the armory and was honorably discharged in September of 1975. He had several jobs before becoming the Manager at Idlenot Restaurant in Claremont. He eventually managed Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Brattleboro & Keene. He worked for Sturm Rugar & Company in Newport NH for several years in the sanding machine shop. Before he retired in 2013 due to health issues, he worked for Pro Marketing as a General Merchandiser in the early 2000's.

Her married Deborah Busl in 1987, and they had 2 children, a daughter Janessa & son Jonathan.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing chess and loved cars and driving.

In his later years he enjoyed watching the news, listening to music, reading while snacking on popcorn and ice cream, and was a social butterfly. His kids always knew where he was in the grocery store by his laugh aisles away.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed men's prayer group, getting breakfast, coffee and chatting.

He was an avid reader, never at a loss for words, and a big patriots fan. He was well known by many in town and as of late could be seen rolling around town in his new scooter with the flashy orange flag.

He is survived by his 2 children and 4 siblings; daughter, Janessa Patterson and husband Ryan of Claremont; son Jonathan of Claremont ; sister Lynn Maynard of Sutton (and her children BJ (and his wife and two children, Wayne (and his wife and four children), John (and his wife and daughter); sister Shelley Brookings of Cornish (and her husband Tim); sister Cynthia Haynes of Acworth (and her husband and four children), Leah, Hannah (and her husband and four children) and Sarah (and her two children) and Joshua Lucky Haynes; and brother Stephen Fitch of Langdon (and his children Kaileigh (and husband Tim and son), Nenah, and Alex) and his partner Nicole Leonard (and her children Brandon and Mason). He is also survived by his cousin Myrna Giroux, cousin Lisa Simoneau (and daughter), and cousin Michael henault (and wife and two children). He was predeceased by his parents Dorlon (Don) Picard and his wife Francella, and Maxine Picard; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be at the Stringer Funeral Home, Claremont, Thursday, October 10th from 5-7pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, October 11th at 11am. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with military honors.
