David Ranson 6-19-1940 – 11-20-2024

David Ranson, formerly of Windsor VT, passed away quietly in his sleep on November 20, 2024. David was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Adele and husband to his late wife Carol. During her eleven years at Mt. Ascutney Nursing home, David spent nearly every day having lunch with his wife until her passing.

David loved his family, his church, his New England sports teams, racing, music of all kinds, and being with people. He made friends quickly with the staff and regulars at his favorite restaurants. His sense of humor and friendliness will be missed by many.

During his younger years David enjoyed photography and building models. He enjoyed attending local track racing and even spent time working on pit crews. He was also proud to have served many years as Head Usher of Old South Church in Windsor Vt and enjoyed organizing countless men's breakfasts over his years there.

David worked as a machinist at Bryant Grinder company his entire adult. He also proudly served in the Army and later the National Guard. Although he never saw foreign soil, he was grateful to serve the country he loved.

David is survived by his daughter Adele Smith, her husband Steve, his two grandchildren Jessica Ross and Gawain Smith, and two nephews David and Jonathon Cummings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Old South Church in Windsor VT on December 29th at 3pm.
