David Rolla Smith,84 of Charlestown passed away on Wednesday March 20,2024 at Maplewood nursing home. He was Born on March 19, 1940 in Bellows Falls VT the son of Rolla and Ruth Smith.

He attended school in Charlestown. In April of 1961 he married the love of his life Teresa Johnson who survives together they have 6 children one son and five daughters David Smith and his wife Grace (recently passed) of Charlestown NH Janet Spaulding and husband Gary of Claremont NH Rose Benwell and husband Joe of Laconia NH Heidi Sterner and husband Bill of Laconia NH Susan Cantara and husband Bruce SR of Charlestown NH And Laura Moses and husband Paul of Charlestown NH. 11 grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters Eleanor Berquist, Rosie Hull and Luci Smith all of Charlestown NH. David worked for Normand Beaudry for 30 years before his retirement. David had a passion for racing and built several cars for his son to drive. He also enjoyed building Rat Rods and going to car cruises.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 13 2024 at Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown at 11 AM A celebration of life will follow at the ELKS Lodge in Claremont NH from 12pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers the Family suggest that donations be made to the Maple wood Nursing Home Activities department.
