It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beautiful Debbie. Debbie was born on September 19, 1957, the eighth of ten children born to Phillip and Alfreda (Partlow) Couitt in Newport, N.H.  To know Debbie, was to love Debbie.  She was the kindest and gentlest soul to everyone but especially to her Family and Friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, Aunt and Friend.  She was smart, funny and genuinely cared about everyone.  Her life was filled with adventures and she lived every day to its fullest.  She attended Claremont schools and was a member of Stevens High School Class of 1975. She left school in her senior year to pursue a career in music.  She was a talented drummer and played with several bands up and down the east coast.  In the mid-eighties, she joined the US Army and served as a transportation specialist.  She was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and fell in love with the area.  She bought a home and settled in Chesapeake Virginia and spent the next twenty plus years working for Ford Motor Company in Norfolk and Pepsi Bottling in the Virginia Beach area.  She also worked several years for UPS in Virginia.

She returned home to New Hampshire in 2005 when our Mom became ill. She missed the beach and a piece of her heart continually longed for her ocean home. She never complained about anything. Ever.   She had a deep love of animals and will be deeply missed by her loyal and faithful dog Josie.  She was a dedicated and diehard Boston Red Sox, NE Patriots, and Celtics fan.  Debbie was the kind of sister, friend and Aunt that everyone hopes for.  She was literally a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her.  She spoiled her nieces and nephews every chance she got. Vacations at Aunt Debbie's in the summer were nothing but pure Fun.  She made them that way.  She was a lifelong Friend to her circle of friends having known all of them for over forty years.  Relationships meant a lot to her. She treasured her family members and each and every friend she made over the years.

Although a small woman physically she had the strength and will power of 100 women.  She fought the most courageous battle over the past year as her health took a turn for the worst. She fought to the very end.  The only solace for those of us who are trying to accept this tremendous loss is knowing that she is no longer suffering or struggling. She is free of the physical illness that took so much from her and she is soaring with the angels in Heaven.  The hardest thing now is figuring out how those of us who loved her so much will carry on without her in our lives.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, Jack Beyor, Edward, Robert, Richard, and Philip Couitt, two sisters, Gail Serem and Brenda Beebe.  She is survived by her sisters, Cathy Paradis, of Claremont and Bonnie (Robert) Gales of Lempster, NH, many nieces, nephews, and cousins and her roommate and friend, Robert Kuhns and her lifelong friend, Charlene Miller along with wonderful friends in Virginia Beach and Florida.

Our Family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the incredible staff from Bayada Health Care for the love, kindness and respect they showed us during this most difficult time. We are also extremely Thankful for the loving care from all of the nurses at Valley Regional Hospital.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Monday evening May 4th from 5 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon May 5th at 1pm with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, NH.
