Our dear mother, Dorothy May Courtemanche, left this earth on February 18 2023 at the age of 89 following a courageous battle with cancer. Dottie was born in Lebanon, NH, on September 9, 1933, to Charles and Belva Kimble Penn, into a family of eight brothers and six sisters. Despite her large family, Dottie always made time for family.

It would be wrong to say that Dottie lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she remained determined. When anyone else may have broken, Dottie stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance look like. Just because she is no longer here, it does not mean she lost her fight.

Dottie is survived by two daughters; Lori Courtemanche and long time partner David Viens of Claremont, NH, and Sindie Hurd and husband Warren of Lempster, NH. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Tanda and her husband James Beauregard, Jody and his wife Kearstine Barry, Lisa Barry and her partner Scott Sleath, Ryan Bakis and his wife Luanne.

Dottie was blessed with many great and great great grandchildren.

Dorothy worked for many years at Walmart and finally retired in 2019 following years of employment with Sylvania. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and dear friend Jennie Blake, knitting and driving around the Upper Valley and beyond.
