Earl Hackett, 81, of Claremont NH, died February 24,2023 peacefully at his home after a long period of failing health.

He was born November 16,1941 at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, Hanover NH, to Harvey and Edna Hackett.

He resided in Claremont for most of his life. He retired to Florida for 12 years, returning to Claremont to be closer to family.

He was predeceased by his sisters Bernice, Carrie, Eleanor, Elsie, and Ethel, one brother Harvey, Jr. He is survived by his wife Florence of 59 years whom he married December 7, 1963. Daughter Cynthia (Raymond) Smith, sons E. Douglas (Beth) Hackett, and Jon (Becca) Hackett. Granddaughters Holly (Jay) Cannistraci, Misty (Matthew) Husband, Erica (Richie) Smith, Taylor (Jake) Hackett, Asha (Josh) Plaustiner, Julia (Hunter) Olsen, Morgan Parkhurst, and Summer Parkhurst. Grandsons Nick (Kayla) Smith, Richard Bond, Brandon Bond, Trevor Hackett, Chase Parkhurst, 3 great-granddaughters, and 8 great-grandsons. He was predeceased by grandson Matthew Husband.

He graduated from Bradford Academy and Vermont Technical College with a degree in agriculture. He worked at Clark's farm upon moving to Claremont, Dartmouth Woolen Mill, and the City of Claremont, transfer station until his retirement.

He loved hunting stating once he got his second deer, he would shave off his beard, he still had his beard, enjoyed fishing and passed that love to his grandson Matthew, and his love of racing brought him to the tracks by working for Speedway Safety Services.

At Earl's request there will be no services at this time, there will be a private burial with family at a later date
