Eleanor "Ellie" Mae (LeClair) Jones of 19 Skyline Terrace Claremont, New Hampshire passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and her much loved cat Taeng.   Ellie was born April 15,1934 on her family's farm on Chestnut St. Ext. in Claremont, New Hampshire to Alexander LeClair Sr. and Roseanna (Dansereau) LeClair.  Ellie was the youngest child of her brothers and sisters, Jean, Alexander Jr., Richard, and Carolyn.   Brought up in Norwood Massachusetts and in Claremont, Ellie and her family split their time between both homes while her Father was on special assignment in Boston during WWII.   She attended schools in Norwood Mass. and Claremont, New Hampshire returning her Junior year to Claremont and graduating from Steven's High School her Senior year with the class of 1952.

Ellie enjoyed a long and satisfying career with the then American Telephone and Telegraph Company starting as a Switchboard Operator during her high school years, then later as a Repair Clerk in the Repair Department on Broad St in Claremont.  Ellie retired from the New England Telephone Compan1979, making many close and lifelong friends during her time at "Ma Bell".

Ellie married Robert T. Jones and together they celebrated 69 years of marriage until his passing in August of 2023.   They shared many interests, a few of which were riding motorcycles, attending NASCAR races at Loudon, and traveling out west and throughout the country to many of the National Parks.   Ellie and Bob were talented ballroom dancers; enjoying many Saturday nights dancing with friends at various music hall venues and ballrooms throughout NH.  Ellie had a passion for gardening,  her beautiful window boxes, flower, and vegetable gardens at her home on Green Mt. were admired by all who visited.   Her proudest gardening moment was when she earned Third place in a national contest from the Better Homes and Gardens, publishers of her Rock Garden she designed.  Ellie also liked to entertain, and enjoyed  a good party, she was a wonderful hostess, cook, and had a knack for baking;  She had an infectious laugh that could be heard all over the neighborhood and at times would get all the dogs on the mountain barking, which made her laugh even louder. She adored her cats and dogs, and many were rescues and or "drop offs" at her home, knowing she had a kind and caring heart for animals.   Ellie was blessed with numerous artistic talents, particularly oil and Toll painting ,along with ceramic arts.  Many of her artistic creations were given to family and friends as treasured gifts.  Ellie enjoyed travel and among her favorite adventures were tours of Rome, France and Portugal and also the scenic cruises through the Hawaiian islands, and an unforgettable voyage to Alaska.

She was a communicant of St Mary's Church, a proud member and Past Grand Regent of Court Virgil H. Barber #892 Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Surviving family includes her daughter, Julie A. Jones Roberts of Claremont; her son, Eric P. Jones of Lebanon N.H.; two grandchildren, Scott P. Roberts (Christina ) of South Portland, Maine, and Kyle M. Roberts ( Alexis ) Claremont;  Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law John "Jack "Jones (Dianna) Houston Texas, and many  close nieces, nephews, and their children and cousins.

Ellie was predeceased by her husband Robert T. Jones, son Thomas Jones, her parents Alex Sr. and Roseanna LeClair, siblings Jean LeClair LaPlante, (Leo); Alex Jr LeClair (Marge); Richard LeClair (Mary); Carolyn LeClair Sheehan (Thomas).

Ellie wished to have a graveside service only at St. Mary Cemetery, and will be celebrated on Saturday morning, June 21st at Eleven O'clock A.M.

Family suggests that if one would like to donate in her memory to do so to the charity of their choice.
