Eleanor Patch passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 21, 2025, at the age of 95 at the Superior Residences of Lecanto, Lecanto, FL where she had lived for the past 2 ½ years.

Our loving, beautiful and generous hearted mother was born May 1, 1929, in Claremont, to Louis and Yvonne (Lusignan) Hipwell, both deceased. Ellie, as she was affectionally known, graduated from St. Mary HS class of 1946. In 1949 she married Robert J. Laviolette, who preceded her in 1999. In 2003 she married Arnold M. Patch, who also preceded her in 2010.

After HS she did office work at Joy Manufacturing until she married and started raising her new family. Rejoining the workforce at Claremont General Hospital, now Valley Regional, retiring in 1992 after 33 years. After retiring she volunteered at St. Mary's Parish Office. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Ellie loved quilting, learning the craft from her mother. She also loved crosswords, word search, needlepoint and traveling. She spent time in Florida and New Mexico, on bus tours to Branson, Toronto, Quebec, the Canadian Maritimes, England and on Sept 11, 2001, was in France with Fr. Mike Ciullo on his religious tour. She was a founding member of the Claremont Senior Center, Inc. A board member, active in physical fitness programs, games and more.

Ellie is the last of her siblings. Preceding her were Inez and Frank Desmarais, Sylvia and Louis Burdett, Beatrice and Frank Delorier, Louis (passed in Jan at 102) and Doris Hipwell and Leonard Hipwell. Also, two furry friends, Izzy and Marlow, who gave her love and comfort.

Ellie leaves her son, Mark R. Laviolette (Barbara Parson), daughters, Cynthia (Alan) Niblett and Carol Laviolette, stepdaughter, Leann (Jim) Esdon, Stepsons, Brian, deceased, (Lisa) Patch, Keith (Cynthia) Patch, Daughter-in-Law, Alice Maes and Son-in-Law, Van McClelland

Grandchildren, Robert (Lori), Mark (Tiffany) and David (Darlaine) Laviolette, Andrew (Audrey) Niblett, Emily (Garrett) Neal, Kyle (Lehena) McClelland, Molly (Tyler) Ramrath. Step-grandchildren, Andrew, Stephen, Gavin Patch, Meaghen (Justin) Laffin, Clair Esdon.

Great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Annmarie, Dailen, Darienne, Daxtyn, Noah, Isabella, Harper, Penelope, Ellawynn, Madison, and Sloane Step-Great grandchildren, Payson and Josie. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home on Monday morning June 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association be made in her memory.
