Ernest Boivin, 78, of Claremont, NH passed away on August 16, 2023.

Ernie was born in Morrisville, VT on October 8, 1944, to Herve and Lucienne (Ferland) Boivin.

He attended People Academy in Vermont. Graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in 1962.

Ernie worked as a mechanic at Avery& Avery; then was partner in C&I Construction for many years. Lastly, working at the Newport Public Works Department.

Ernie was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He also enjoyed his membership with the Antique Tractor Club.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally (Childs) Boivin; his sisters, Yvonne St. Pierre and her husband, Joseph of Claremont, and Pauline Desmarais of Unity; his brother, Denis Boivin of Charlestown; his children, Alan Boivin and his wife Teri of Concord, Sherry Spencer and her husband, Warren of North Carolina, Lisa Lapointe of Florida and Keith Boivin and his wife, Jennifer of Claremont; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Roy, Cherise Boivin, Ashliegh Dundas, Branden Mackenzie, Troy Spencer, Crystal Boivin and Matthew Luke; 2 great grandchildren, John Mackenzie and Addie Dundas.

Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont on Tuesday evening, August 22nd from 4 to 6PM. A prayer service will be at Stringer Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23rd at 1PM. A graveside service will follow in St Mary Cemetery. The family ask that you join them at 3PM at the Elk's Club on Pleasant Street in Claremont to celebrate Ernie's life.
