Frances Andersen 86, formerly of Newport, NH passed away on April 11, 2024, at Sullivan County Health Care.  She was born in New Haven, CT on June 10, 1937 to Francis and Helen (Zakas) Steinmacher.

Frances grew up in Connecticut, graduating in 1955 from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT.  She later settled in Newport, working at and retiring from the State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission as a clerk.  She later went on to work at The Dorr Mill Store, largely in part because of her talents as both a knitter and rug hooker.  Raising sheep and processing wool was a pastime that brought much joy to her.  As the cold New England winters became less appealing, she moved to Hudson, Florida until returning to New Hampshire to be in the place she considered her real home.

Frances is predeceased by her parents Francis and Helen.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina Andersen of Stratford, CT, her grandson Zakas Kenyon and granddaughter Jillian Kenyon.
