Freida A. (Roy) Monroe passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 3, 2023. Freida was born on July 31, 1928 to Lura and Percy Roy; she was the second youngest of 13 children. She was married to Norman Monroe, Sr (deceased) just shy of 62 years.

Freida is survived by her daughter, Normandi (Mandy) Ryals, son and daughter-in-law, Norman Monroe, Jr. and Gail Monroe, granddaughter, Marcy Charron and grandson and great granddaughter, Jason Monroe and Adelyn Monroe, as well as many relatives and loved ones.

In Freida's early years, she worked at Sinclair Machine shop and was an avid rollerskater and bowler. Her cooking specialty was spaghetti and meatballs. Vacations to coastal Maine with her husband, kids, and grandkids were a regular event in the summers for decades, and later on to Rand Pond in Goshen as well.

Freida was a huge Patriots fan, especially of Tom Brady. She loved to watch football on tv and could announce a call before the referee. She loved going for rides to get ice cream or to see what might be new around the area. She was always ready to get in the car and make new memories, but only after she applied her lipstick.

Freida was truly a beautiful person inside and out. She easily made friends wherever she went and always cared for loved ones, putting their well-being for her own. She will be greatly missed by her family. Freida touched many lives in her 95 years, leaving a little piece of her with each of us.

Calling hours will be at Stringer Funeral Home, Claremont, NH from 1- 2:30pm on Monday, November 13, 2023. Graveside service will follow at 3pm at Mountain View Cemetery, Claremont, NH. There will be a coffee reception at the Trinity Episcopal Church, on Broad Street in Claremont, NH at 3:45pm.
