Fumiko Malarich, 91, of Acworth, NH passed away on May 15, 2025.

She was born November 12,1933 in the Tinian South Sea Islands. At a young age, Fumiko and her family moved to Okinawa where she attended schools and after started working at a store making clothes. She met Marine Corp Sergeant William Malarich one day while repairing his uniform. He kept coming back with the same problem wanting to speak with her each time, Fumiko could not see the problem but this was Williams way to get to know her and eventually marry her. Fumiko would receive her US citizenship and they would come to Acworth, NH to build their house and raise their family. In 1976, William would pass from cancer. Many people would ask if she would go back to Okinawa, but Fumiko was smart and strong. She got her driver's license and learned to read and write the English language, she also learned to write and balance a check book. William had good friends and family that thankfully helped her. Fumikos longest employment was at PEP Industries in Claremont where she would retire from but not before the company made a training movie of Fumiko to show all the new workers how to properly do the process of making boots. Even at her age she had the best quality and most production numbers of anyone, hence making the movie of her. Fumiko was fantastic at making clothes. hemming and repairing clothes for family and friends when asked her crocheted work always won blue ribbons at the Cornish fair. She was such a green thumb. She loved to garden and could grow anything anywhere, she would give away much that she grew and then can and freeze the rest.

Fumiko is survived by her two children, son, Michael Malarich and his two sons, William and wife, Edniris Malarich of Miami FL, and Steven and Kelsey Malarich and their two children, Myles and Madison Of Walpole NH, daughter, Jenny and Randy Bly and their two children, Emily and Peter of Acworth, NH.

Meme as she is known by her family, will be dearly missed, she loved all and all loved her.
