Gary Charles Young, Sr., 84, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, of an ongoing medical issue.  He was born in Claremont, NH, on May 6, 1939, the son of Ole Young and Patricia Coffin.  In the 70's, he moved to Wichita, Kansas, with his wife Shirley (Gagnon) Young, where they lived for 46 years.

He enjoyed bowling big balls when he lived in Wichita and working in his yard.  Loved going to the casino in Oklahoma and loved watching his sports especially New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Shirley; three brothers, Roger, Stanley, and Walter, and stepdaughters, Sonia Byers and Laurie Griffith.

Survived by his daughter, Rebecca Young of Newport, NH, and son, Gary Young Jr. of Friendsville, Maryland; brother, Robert Young of Charlestown, NH, two sisters, Marie Fournier and Bernadette Parent both of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; stepdaughters, Donna Malia and Brenda Postovit both of Palm Bay, Florida, and Sharon Wareing of Micco, Florida; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Saturday, June 8th from 2 to 4 PM.
