George passed away in his home in Lempster, NH on December 7,2024 after a long illness with his family by his side.

George was born on March 18th, 1946 in Claremont NH, the adoptive son of Harvey Granger and Beatrice Couture.

He worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor, VT and later transferred to Union City, TN. Where he retired after 32 years.

He married his wife Barbara on June 10th, 1989, and celebrated 35 years of marriage.

George loved old cars and racing. He spent his free time talking with friends about cars, building cars and many weekends in front of the television enjoying racing. In his younger years he could be found at Claremont Speedway on the weekend in the pits or tinkering on Bruce Batchelder Sr.'s race car in the garage. George had a great sense of humor, and many were drawn to him for the smiles and laughs. After both he and his wife retired, they enjoyed the adventures of traveling together. They took in the sights and traveled many miles over the years. He would often speak about the many memories taken from those trips.

George is survived by his wife Barbara of Lempster, NH, his daughter Christina (Leah) of Swanzey, NH, stepsons Scott Stickney of Lempster, NH, Mark Stickney of Las Vegas, NV, 3 grandchildren Brynn Granger, Tate Granger and Grayson Granger, sister in-law Loretta Granger and many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Stan Faucher.

He was predeceased by both of his adoptive parents, brothers Philodore Granger and Andrew Granger, and sister Rolante Winot.

Many thanks to the staff at New London Hospital and the visiting hospice nursing staff who assisted with his care.
