George L. Poisson, 86, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH.    He was born June 12, 1939, the Son of Leo & Anne (Lowe) Poisson.

George attended Charlestown High School and went to work at many different places, but lastly at L.E. Weed & Sons in Newport, NH.

He loved repairing and selling garden tractors.  He was a very talented woodworker and made his family and friends many crafts over the years.  He would be given a picture of something to build and he would figure it out and build it.  He even meticulously crafted wooden trucks and tractors with moving parts.

He married his high school sweetheart on June 28, 1958.

He is survived by his three sons, Paul (Sara) of Malone, NY, Daniel (Kelly) of Bluffton, SC and David (Diane) of Claremont NH; one sister, Lauria Bascom of Mesa, Arizona, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 60 years Yvette (Poirier) Poisson, a brother Frederick Poisson, Sr, a sister-in-law Virginia Poisson and a brother-in-law Tom Bascom.

There will be no calling hours or funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers feel free to make a donation in George's name to the Sullivan County Health Care facility in care of the MacConnell/Alzheimer's Dementia Care unit.
