Halford Eugene Jones, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on June 4, 2025, at the age of 88.

Halford was born on November 25, 1936, in Windsor, VT, to Halford E. Jones Sr. and Violet Dubois. He spent his early years in Claremont, NH with his sister Noreen, where he graduated from Stevens High School in 1954. He then studied at the University of New Hampshire, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1958. After college, he served in the U.S. Army for four years and later joined the Peace Corps. While stationed in the Philippines, Halford taught elementary and high school students. It was there that he began his family with his wife.

After returning from the Philippines, Halford settled in Claremont, NH with his family. He worked as a corrections officer at the Sullivan County Department of Corrections. He later served as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in White River Junction, VT, retiring after 22 years of service.

Halford was known for his passion for martial arts, specializing in Arnis (Filipino stick fighting). He held a 7th Dan black belt and co-founded the National Institute of Modern Martial Arts (NIMMA). He also enjoyed visiting museums, hiking, and volunteering as a television producer for CCTV8, a local access station in White River Junction.

He was married to his wife, Emelda Revillia Jones, for 58 years. Together, they had three children: Frank, James, and the late Noreen. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Kimberlee and Catherine, and his grandchildren: Nicole, Sydney, Nathan, Alex, Makayla, and Harper.

Viewing hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home on June 10, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on June 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at Union Cemetery.
