James Gordon Torney passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2025, in Keene, NH. Jim was born on August 1st, 1931, to John Gordon and Hazel (Hill) Torney of Osage, Iowa. He was a 1949 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN and in 1957 graduated from the University of Minnesota. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and he was later employed at Honeywell Inc. and Fellows Corporation in Springfield, VT. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Martinson. Jim is survived by his wife Judith (Reinecke) Torney, whom he married on October 5th, 1963, his son Peter and his wife Carrie Torney of Charlestown, NH, daughter Susan and her husband David Hillis of Charlton, MA. His grandson Matthew Baird-Torney and his wife Shawna, and his granddaughter Monica and her husband Kyle Lizotte of Charlestown, NH. He is also survived by his four great grandchildren, Easton and Hazel Baird Torney, and Avery and Harrison Lizotte.
