On Sunday, January 11th, with his wife and family at his side, Joseph "Joe" Lawrence St. Pierre passed away. Joe will be remembered as a devoted family man and a lifelong steward of the land, whose hands and heart were rooted in farming. He passes down values of hard work and care of his land. By his side for 68 years was his loving wife, Yvonne (Boivin) St. Pierre of Claremont with whom he built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. Together they raised six children.

The son of the late Wilfred & Lucille (Theroux), Joseph was born on August 3, 1937 in Claremont, NH. Joe attended St. Mary's school before being employed at Bradley Airfield in Connecticut. Afterward, he devoted himself to farming, the work he truly loved. His farming years were spent in Walpole, NH and then later Ogdensburg, NY. Before concluding his career in construction, he worked at was Davis & Symonds Lumber Co., Presto Grain, C&I Construction, and then T-Bird Fuel. He spent his final years at St. Pierre Inc., continuing the family business and legacy. Joe and Yvonne shared a love of traveling and deeply cherished their time together. Joe was a member of the 3rd degree Knights of Columbus.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his 11 brothers and sisters, and his grandson Bobby Webb. Surviving Joe is his sister Monique St. Pierre of St. Agathe, Quebec, his wife Yvonne, and his children Laurent St. Pierre (Marcy) of Unity, Laura Cefarelli of Claremont, Tina Webb (Bob) of Dawson, GA, Cecelia Bly (Rob) of Claremont, Michele Condon (Rocky) of Unity, and Mariann Hosley (Cliff) of Charlestown. He was Pépère to his 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3.5 great-great-grandchildren, and Uncle Joe to his many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 15th from 5pm – 7pm at Stringer Funeral Home on Broad Street in Claremont. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16th at 11am at St. Joseph Church on Elm Street in Claremont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Claremont, NH.
