Joseph Henry Simoneau, born April 18, 1945, passed on after a long hard-fought battle with cancer on March 14, 2026 at 80 years young. He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan Simoneau and Leona Laforest, and by three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by one sister, Joanne Greenwood of Charlestown, NH. His daughter Heidi Butkus, his two grandchildren, Ally Simoneau and Rohan Simoneau, all of Claremont NH, and 28 nieces and nephews.

Joe had a very full life, had a fierce love for his family, and enjoyed being outdoors with nature.

Though he is remembered by most as a logger, his life also saw him doing such things a welding in the shipyards, being a carnie, working on farms and about a dozen other things in between.

He was an avid fisherman, boatsman, hunter, gardener and lover of wildlife.

Joe was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was a treasured father, and a beloved Bumpa.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Saturday, March 21st from Noon to 1:30PM. A graveside service will follow at Mountain View Cemetery at 2PM.
