Joyce W. Barden, born on January 24, 1930, in Claremont, NH, passed away on February 14, 2026. She was a beloved member of her community and family. Joyce graduated from Stevens High School in 1947 and furthered her education at the Vesper School of Art in Boston, MA, graduating in 1951. Her career included working at M.T. Bird Stationary Store in Boston from 1951 to 1955 and at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Concord, NH from 1956 to 1959.

Joyce was married to Andrew Victor Barden in January 1956, and they shared many years together until his passing in 2005. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Living Word School from 1976 to 1986 and was deeply involved in her religious community as an organist and member of the First Baptist Church in Claremont, as well as playing piano for the Russian Orthodox Church.

She is survived by her sons, Victor Barden and his wife, Jean of Charlestown, William Barden of Hooksett, NH, and Edwin Barden of Barre, VT. Her sister, Marilyn Bruce and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Ruth Wheeler, and her husband, Andrew Victor Barden and brother, Nyron Wheeler.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Grace River Church, 56 Main Street, Claremont, NH, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1 PM.
