Julianne Mary Wanat, 83, of Charlestown, NH passed away on March 10, 2026.

Julianne Mary Buraczynski was born on October 29th, 1942 in Greenfield, MA to Joseph S. and Laura M. (DeTour) Buraczynski.

She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1960. She earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 1964 and a MALS from Wesleyan University in 1973.

Juli taught at her alma mater, Greenfield High School from 1964-1968 until marrying Louis Wanat and moving to Amherst, NH. She then taught at Milford Area Senior High in Milford, NH from 1968 until her retirement in 2000. In 1994 she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. After retirement, Juli and Lou moved to Charlestown, NH and Juli was able to continue educating through volunteering at the St. Mary School in Claremont, NH from 2001 to 2009. She was a NH Volunteer awardee during this time.

Since 2000, Juli has been a member of St. Mary Parish in Claremont, NH, a member of the Keene Mineral Club, and served as a Library Trustee for the Silsby Library in Charlestown, NH.

Her hobbies included photography, mineral collecting, gardening and genealogy.

Juli leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Louis, her son Richard (Christie) Wanat of Epping, NH, and daughter Jennifer (Daniel) Harper of Tallahassee, FL. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lauren Wanat, Aiden Wanat, and Bradley Harper.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinsons or Lewy Body Dementia research.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary Church in Claremont on Wednesday, June 24th at 11AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester at 1PM.
