Laurie M. Fontaine, 67, of Claremont, NH passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2025.

She was born in Barre, VT on July 18, 1958, the daughter of Kenneth and Ella (Young) MacAskill.

Laurie was a musician, playing the guitar. She had belonged to a gospel group in Hillsboro for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She had worked at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in medical records for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Robin B. Fontaine whom she married on June 7, 1980; their son, Dan Fontaine of Weathersfield and two grandsons, Lawson and Walker; her sister, Bonnie Post of St Albans, ME; brother, Donald MacAskill of Chambersburg, PA and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, on Saturday, September 6th from 10 to 11AM. A memorial service will be at 11AM with Pastor Clint Brake officiating, a burial to follow.
