In Loving Memory of Lisa Marie (Buffum) Kinney

Lisa M. Kinney, age 53, passed away on June 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 18, 1973, in Keene, NH, Lisa was the daughter of Joyce (Kathan) Giroux and the late Neal Paul Buffum. Throughout her life, Lisa exemplified kindness, creativity, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bruce Kinney. Their love story began with a blind date arranged by mutual friends, a simple introduction that blossomed into a lifetime of love, partnership, and friendship, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Lisa dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising their daughter, Olivia. As a stay-at-home mother, she devoted her time to Olivia’s education, growth, and development. She viewed homeschooling not simply as teaching, but as an opportunity to instill a love of learning, strong values, and confidence in the young woman Olivia is today. Lisa took immense pride in her family and the home she lovingly created for them. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Lisa could often be found with a book in hand and a cup of her favorite Earl Grey tea nearby. She also enjoyed watercolor painting, finding joy and peace in expressing her creativity through art. She cherished family barbecues, gatherings with loved ones, and making memories with family and friends. One of Lisa’s favorite places in the world was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She loved the beauty of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, and the special moments spent there with those she loved most. Lisa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bruce Kinney; her daughter, Olivia Kinney; her mother, Joyce Giroux and husband Mike Giroux; her half-brother, Andrew Hutchings; her mother in-law, Sharon Martin; her sister in-laws, Julie Tewksbury, June Walker and Alyssa Rhoades; and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though ovarian cancer ultimately claimed her life, it never diminished her spirit. Lisa faced every challenge with grace, courage, and determination, inspiring all who knew her through her strength and love for her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by graveside burial services. Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life following the burial services. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, family members, and friends who provided support, comfort, and compassionate care throughout Lisa’s illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Lisa and in support of the ongoing fight against cancer.
