A LIFE WELL LIVED" would describe the life of Loretta M. White (Ploude) who died July 2, 2025 at Sullivan County Healthcare.  Mickey (a nickname she used) was born in Island Falls, Maine on December 13, 1930 to parents Treffle and Delia (Willette) Plourde.

After graduating Stevens High School and on August 30, 1949 she married Maurice White.  They spent most of their married life living on Winter Street, Claremont, NH.  Mickey  and Maurice worked on the Locus White Family Farm and spent some time living in Wallingsford, CT. Together they build their home on Winter Street. They started a small business called White's Small Motor Shop.   In this business, they repaired and sold snowmobiles and repaired other small engines.  Together they started the first Shugar Valley Snowmobile Club.  Mickey hosted many snowmobile parties and family get togethers.  She loved to cook and spent much time cooking for family and friends.  She loved to dance to rock and roll and old country artists such as Hank Williams and Patsy Cline; she was seen dancing Saturday nights at the Moose Lodge.  Mickey was a talented quilter who together with her sister Madeline made many quilts for family and friends.  She loved gardening, weeding. mowing and raking.  She was never one to sit still other than to pay bingo & cards with her sisters Coleen and Mad.

She worked at Pederson Plastic, local shoe shops and Valley Regional Hospital.  Her favorite job was at Valley Regional  where she sterilized instruments and cleaned the operating room.  Her family was her greatest love.  Her surviving family includes sons Larry (Sue) and Randy White, sister Coleen (Fred) Scruton.  Grandchildren Greg, Shawn (Vicky)  and Heather (Chris Gould); great grandchildren Adrick, Aiden, Alaina and Eldon White and Ella and Benjamin Gould.  She was predeceased by brothers Clarence and Herbert Plourde and her sister Madeline Plourde Davis.  The great grandchildren will remember sleep overs and dinners with Grammy Mickey.  She will be missed by all her family; that being said, she made a huge positive impression on all.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Elks on 34 Summer Street Claremont from 1 to 4pm.   There will not be services at the funeral home and she requested a private burial.
