Margaret Atwood, 75, of Bristol, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3, at her home in Bristol.

Born in Tunbridge, VT in 1949, Margaret was a loving mother, cherished friend, and a colorful soul who touched the lives of many with her warmth, strength, and generous heart. She spent much of her life in New Hampshire, where she built lasting relationships in the Claremont & Bristol communities and was known for her kindness, sense of style, and faith.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Terri Towle and her husband, Kevin Caccavaro of Columbia, SC and grandchildren Clara Blossom & Cole Fisher Caccavaro, also of Columbia, SC.  Her brightest joy was her son, Daniel Towle, of Claremont, NH and his children and grandchildren.  She is survived by Daniel F. Towle, Claremont and his wife, Lorri, and their children Kristin Swinyer, Dan Towle, Cassandra Towle and Dakota Towle.  Her great grandchildren are Averie Faria, Asher Linn, Griffith & Finlay Hines, Oisin Swinyer, Jax Towle, Theodore Towle, Tobias Towle and newborn Samuel Towle.  She loved her cat, Charley, the Bristol Library, walking and  picking wild strawberries. Her legacy lives on through her family and all who were fortunate to know her.

A public celebration of life will be held by the family on May 17th at the Claremont Community Center at 1:00 pm.

A small gathering will also take place in Bristol, NH on Friday, May 16th at 5 pm at the Senior Apartments on 139 Beech Street, Bristol.

Margaret's memory will remain a guiding light to those who loved her, and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Minot-Sleeper Library in Bristol, NH.
