Mark Kimball Murphy passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 69. Mark was born in Claremont, NH in 1954. He was one of four children born to Lindner and Marjorie (Osgood) Murphy.

Mark graduated from Stevens High School in 1972. His most honorable high school achievement was playing first chair violin for both the NH Allstate and All New England Orchestras. He also reached great heights as a fearless ski-jumper on the school's ski team. In 1976, he earned a degree in Special Education from Keene State College where he graduated Cum Laude. While attending college, he was a legacy member of the Kappa Delta Pi fraternity as well as being actively involved in the fundraising committee that raised funds for the Cedarcrest, a home for special needs children.

He was a special education teacher at Mascoma Valley Regional High School for seven years before becoming Assistant Principal at the same school. Showing their respect and appreciation, the Class of 1995 dedicated their year book to him and wrote, "Mr Murphy is a positive and contributing force in the lives of Mascoma students". In 1998, he proudly received a New Hampshire Excellence in Education Award for being the New Hampshire Assistant Principal of the year.

In addition, Mark was a member of the Canaan Lions Club, during which time he was instrumental in putting together the Canaan Motocross Raceway and the construction of the Elliott Baseball Field. This field is used for both recreational league baseball and softball. Being an avid Boston Red Sox fan, Mark received his certification as a baseball umpire and served on the Little League Commission. With that he enjoyed umpiring baseball for the recreational league, high school and Junior college.

Mark is predeceased by his parents, Lindner and Marjorie and his brother, Kevin Murphy. He is survived by his ex-wife, Nancie Murphy of Lebanon, NH and their son, Jonathan Murphy of Enfield, NH; his brother, Barry Murphy and his wife, Lee of Farmington, NH; his sister, Elizabeth Becken and her husband, Richard of Windsor, VT and many nieces and nephews.
