Melanie C. Aguiar, 77, of Cornish, NH passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 9, 1943, to Paul and Mary (Eberl) Hering.

She graduated from Saint Joseph's College for Women, Brooklyn, NY in 1965 with a dual major in Chemistry and Bio Physics.

With a lifetime love of learning, she had careers in medical research, retail, securities as well as wellness and nutrition, yoga and wildlife rehabilitation. Her love of animals led her to rescue and domesticate feral cats for many years. At one time, she had eleven of her own and had placed more than fifty with adopting families.

Active in the community, she was a member of many local organizations and groups including the Cornish Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Stowell Library, Book Club, Cornish Quilters, Garden Club, Cornish Fair, and the local food pantry, Willing Hands.

Additionally, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, sewing, crafts and fiber arts with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, David Aguiar of Cornish, NH and her son, Stefan Klaus of Gummersbach, Germany.

A gathering to celebrate her life, will be held at a later date.
