It is with great sadness that our family member, Michael Jangel, 84, of Claremont, NH passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.  Mike was born the youngest of seven children to Makar and Mary (Pilot) Jangel on May 14, 1939.  He was a lifelong resident of Claremont, NH.  He was a graduate of Steven's Highschool class of 1959.

After high school he joined the Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC during the Berlin Crisis.

Mike was a caring and patient father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, friend, and employee. His employment included the Coca Cola Plant here in Claremont, NH, and the Liberal Beef Company alongside his brother Victor and made many friends.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, sisters Julia Akkola, Blanche Kennett, and Mary Welch and his brothers Nicholas and Edward Jangel.   Several nieces and nephews also predeceased him.

He will be greatly missed by his four children, Tina Jangel-Burns of San Antonio, TX, (Matt), daughter Sara Jangel-Moran of Puyallup, WA, (Scott) daughter Cindy Jangel-King of NY, (Brian) and his son Michael H. Jangel of Ascutney, VT.  He leaves one brother Victor Jangel (Dawna) in Claremont, NH.

He also leaves many nieces, nephews, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, his former wife Patricia Blaine.

Grandchildren include Quinn Mancino (Vincent) and Kyle Moran of state of WA, Alisha Jangel-Grimsley of Claremont (Jason) Paige Wells (Mike) of Clifton Park, NY, and Sierra Jangel (Trevor) of Claremont, NH.

Mike loved watching sports, and in his youth was a recognized sportsman at SHS (Steven's High School) here in Claremont, NH.

His more recent pleasure in life was totally enjoying the early care of his two great grandchildren, Layla Grimsley and Lennon Grimsley, plus a new addition to the family Lilith Grimsley all of Claremont, NH.

Mike was a friend to all, soft spoken, occasionally cracked a dry joke, and loved to poke fun.

In lieu of flowers, Mike wishes you to donate to your favorite charity.

There will be a celebration of life service at the Elks Club in Claremont on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4-6 PM.
