Muriel Emily Mathews, 93, of New Boston, N.H. passed away on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022. She was born on December 1, 1928, in St. Albans Vt. She was the daughter of John Albert and Mildred Emily [Skelly] Shepherd.

A graduate of Charlestown, N.H. High school and Wilfred Academy of Cosmetology.

She later met and married the love of her life, George E. Mathews Jr. Together they lived in Charlestown, N.H. and Claremont, N.H. where the raised two sons, David and Matt. She had her beauty salon - GEM Beauty Salon at home.

In 1987 they retired to Venice, Fl. where they spent 15 wonderful years before moving back to New Boston, N.H.

She was preceded by her parents, one son David Albert Mathews and her beloved husband George E. Mathews Jr.

Muriel is survived by her son George [Matt] E. Mathews lll and his wife Linda [Giguere] Mathews of New Boston, N.H.

A private burial will be in St. Albans, Vt. sometime in the spring.
