Nichole Lynn Dubaniewicz, 47, died on Tuesday, December 21, 2022. She was born on June 5, 1975, in Claremont, NH, the youngest daughter of Dennis and Barbara Dubaniewicz. Nikki struggled with her addictions and it is easy to fall back on those difficult memories. Her family, however, will remember the Nikki that was always there, even through the heavy veil of substance abuse. That Nikki wanted to live, and she loved her family, her pets, gardening, and overwhelmingly, she loved to laugh and be happy. Nothing says this more than her login, "happynikki1975". She sought out happiness and didn't hold back on her affections for her family, friends, and animals. The largest part of her heart belonged to her daughter, Aidan Nichole. Nikki graduated from Stevens High School in 1993 and attended fashion school in Boston for one year. She adored little kids and spent many of her working years in daycares and classrooms where she found happiness teaching, playing, and caring for children. Nikki's nurturing soul extended to life growing from the ground - she could be found in the warmer months tending to flowers and garden beds alongside her parents, using the green thumb she inherited from her Mom and maternal grandmother. Nikki married Michael Zackary Antonivich in July 2000 and on April 30, 2005, they had their daughter Aidan. Nikki was immensely proud of Aidan, always cheering her on at soccer games and ready with a hug. She felt that same pride for her nieces, Fallon and Stella, and her best times were spent with the three of them. To the end, Nikki kept strong friendships with her high school friends, keeping up with their lives and their children's, and never missed an opportunity to say hello and give a dog a warm cuddle. She enjoyed creating for and decorating her home, making something beautiful out of pieces of jewelry or furniture. Nikki had an artist's soul and felt things deeply. Nikki is survived by her beloved daughter Aidan, her parents Dennis and Barbara, her sister Cassie Steele and her husband Matthew, nieces Fallon and Stella, aunts and uncles, cousins, and her three cats and her family's dogs and cats. She was preceded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents, an aunt and an uncle, her brother-in-law Armand Lavertue, and too many childhood friends who also fought their own demons. A private family service and internment is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to drug treatment centers or to the Sullivan County Humane Society, to help those in need who may not be able to help themselves.
