Patricia "Pat" Girard, 81, of Claremont, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, following several recent health challenges.

Born on November 5, 1944, in Claremont, Pat was the daughter of Christine and Plummer "Lefty" Leamond. She married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Girard, and together they shared 62 wonderful years. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her husband Richard; her sons Ross (Buffy), Dale (Allyn), and Todd (Brandi); eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, with two more expected to join the family in the very near future; her sister Pam Haynes of Leesburg, Florida; a niece, and brother-in-law Kenneth "Gee" Smith. She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Smith.

For the past 25 years, Pat and Dick divided their time between Claremont and Daytona Beach, a routine Pat cherished—especially because she never liked the cold and was always ready to head south before winter arrived.

Pat lived a life filled with energy, curiosity, and adventure. She and Dick enjoyed traveling together, including cross-country road trips and flights in the family airplane—experiences she embraced wholeheartedly. Her favorite car was her mustang aptly named "MY-BTR." Whether traveling between Claremont and Loudon or simply out for a ride, she cherished the open air and sunshine on the road.

She was always up for something new, whether it was four-wheeling in the side-by-side or kayaking on the water. No matter what the destination or the activity, she found joy in the journey.

Pat worked in several roles that showcased her dedication and warm spirit. She began her career as a hairdresser, owning a parlor in her home. She later worked in the Claremont School District cafeteria, forming lasting friendships. After she and Dick purchased Golden Cross Ambulance, she contributed her skills in the office until their retirement. Even then, Pat stayed active, working in the credentials offices at both New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway. She loved reconnecting with her extended racing family each season, a tradition she deeply treasured until her health no longer allowed her to continue this past year.

At home, Pat's kitchen was a gathering place. She was an amazing cook, always ready to feed family, friends, and anyone who happened to stop by. She cherished every visit and every family gathering. An avid reader, she often had a book open on her phone—even while working at the track.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 7th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Stringer Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 8th, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. A private burial will take place in the spring.

Pat will be deeply missed, but her love, spirit, and sense of adventure will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
