Peter Charles Mozden, 56, passed away on Saturday, May 6 surrounded by his family.  Peter was born to parents Joseph Mozden Sr. and Mary (Barone) Mozden on June 13, 1966, and though he was born in Claremont, NH he spent most of his adult life living in the NH Seacoast area.

In 1985 Peter graduated from Claremont's Stevens High School where he was active in varsity sports, specifically, soccer, football and hockey.  He also assisted in coaching the girls' soccer team, with his close friend and mentor, Gene Grumman.

Peter earned his Associate Degrees in Culinary Arts and Business in 1987 from the University of New Hampshire Thompson School of Applied Sciences with Honors.  He spent his career working in food service throughout the NH seacoast area.  A bit of a night owl and always willing to help, he was often the person closing the businesses, or doing early openings in a pinch.  At home, he was often the main cook and chef for many of his close friends and extended family.

Anyone who met Peter quickly discovered that he loved watching and following all sports.  He was passionate about his local Boston teams – Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics. Although to some of his friends' and his brother's dismay, his football loyalty was with the Dallas Cowboys.  His love of sports carried over into local dart leagues with his good friends and teammates.  This quickly became his favorite pastime fun and social activity.

For a person, who was often quiet in a group, friends and family were often caught off guard by his ready quips and dead pan humor, revealing his playful side.  Humor aside, he will most be remembered (as recently shared by many) " as one of the kindest people I ever knew and he always put other people first." Peter was an astute observer and critical thinker. He was an empathetic listener and had a remarkable memory, never missing anyone's birthday or other important life event.  And his infectious smile was sure to pull you in.

Peter was a genuine and honest individual who gave without expecting anything in return, who valued his friends and family, and supported them wherever they were at in their lives. He would be deeply moved to see the outpouring of sentiment and love people are sharing on email and social media.

Peter will be greatly missed by his sister Denise (Mozden) Liveston and her husband, Tom Liveston, his sister Deb Mozden, and her partner, Robert Marvin, and his brother Joe Mozden Jr, and his wife, Cathy Mozden.   Also missing Peter are his five nephews: TJ Liveston, Joseph Mozden III, Jake Mozden, Colton Liveston and Caleb Liveston, his niece, Sarah Mozden, and his friends, many of whom he considered his extended family.

Services will take place on Tuesday, May 16 at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont.  Calling hours begin at 11:00 am followed by a brief service at 12:00 and then burial at Union Cemetery in Claremont.

Keeping with his playful side, if you plan to join us at any time on May 16 ^th , we know that Peter would love it if you came dressed casually and even consider wearing something green as it was his favorite color and seems an appropriate way to celebrate his life.
