Rena Marie (Dodier) Hendee passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, after a long battle with dementia. She was born on July 28, 1934, to Tom and Bernadette Dodier. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Claremont NH. On July 5th, 1952, she married Richard Andrew Hendee of Rutland, VT. They lived most of their 66 years of marriage in Springfield, VT where they enjoyed their time together until he passed on January 12, 2018.

She is survived by five children, Terry Hendee of Springfield, VT (wife, Joletta Hendee), Deborah Hendee of Charlestown, NH, Kathy (Hendee) Hill of Weathersfield, VT (husband, Rusty Hill), Sylvia (Hendee) Bowden of Charlestown, NH and Mark Hendee of Newport, NH (wife, Donna Hendee).

Rena was a tiny person with a big heart. She loved to spend time with her husband eating out with friends and family. She would sneak her children their dinner even when they were supposed to be punished and enjoyed cooking her family's favorite meals for them. She loved QVC and watching her "plays" (soap operas) and games shows every day. Whenever she had the chance, she enjoyed bingo and gambling on slot machines.

She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 1 predeceased, and many great grandchildren all of whom enjoyed visiting and stealing gum drops from her glass candy jar.

Her last years were spent in the companionship of the residents and the wonderful nursing and care staff at the McCoy House in Newport, NH. We can't thank all of them enough for their care, compassion and loving guidance during her last hours.

A celebration of life will be held at the Charlestown Senior Center in Charlestown, New Hampshire on March 9 at 2 PM. All family and friends are welcome.
