Mrs. Esersky, 100, died peacefully on March 27, 2025 at Hanover Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, NH.

She was born November 12, 1924 in Manchester, NH, the daughter of Samuel and Lena (Shnider) Ekman. She graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1941, then attended the Fay School in Boston, MA where she completed studies and became an executive legal secretary, employed by several high profile Boston law firms.

In 1949 she married Dr. Joseph Esersky, a Claremont, NH dentist who predeceased her in 1977. After her husband's death, Mrs. Esersky returned to the work force as a school secretary at Stevens High and later became executive assistant to the president of the Claremont Vocational Technical College, (now part of River Valley Community College). Mrs. Esersky was an active community member participating in the League of Women Voters, the Temple Meyer David Hadassah, Women's Auxilliary of the NH Dental Association, and as a literacy volunteer in the Claremont public schools.

A former dancer, Rheta choreographed Stevens High School's annual musical productions and Claremont General Hospital's Cardiac Capers. An avid crossword puzzle fan, she reliably completed the New York Times Sunday Puzzle in ink, never said no to a Scrabble game, and played weekly Mah Jongg games for decades.

She is survived by two daughters; Gareth Esersky (Jonathan Blumenfeld) of Forest Hills, New York and Martha Lorden (Bruce) of Hanover, NH; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Amelia, and Zeke Blumenfeld; and nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard L. Ekman.

The family would like to acknowledge and express its heartfelt appreciation to the Hanover Terrace nursing and administrative staff and Bayada Hospice services for their outstanding care and personal connection with Mrs. Esersky for the past four years.
