Rick Taylor of Unity, NH passed away on August 31,  2023.  He was 66 years old.

He was born to Gilford and Turlla Taylor on March 27, 1957 in Trenton, MI.

Rick is survived by his wife Susan (Santa Maria) Taylor, his niece Andrea (Dan and Isa), and nephews, Aris, David (EJ and Manny), Mark (Sarah and Remy), Nick (Alyssa), his sister in laws-Annie and Nancy, his sister Betty, his brother Bob and his brother in laws Paul and Aristides. He also leaves behind many friends who he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Susan who died in 2015.

Rick was an inquisitive, kind, generous, and bright spirited man who lived life on his own terms. Life had its share of challenges when he was young but Rick wasn't one to dwell in the past. Rick joined the Navy when he was 16 and as an adult he completed his Bachelor's degree.  He was curious about everything (except sports) and was a lifelong learner with hobbies ranging from gardening, whittling, panning for gold, sailing, metal detecting and digging for and collecting rocks.  Rick became an accomplished woodworker. He was a self-taught draftsman and builder, culminating with the design and construction of his own home with his wife Susan.

Rick's work life was varied. From owning a general store in Berlin NH, providing in-home and community support to people with developmental disabilities and most recently working in the Unity school system as a Paraprofessional, the common denominator was to have interesting interactions and be of service to others.

Rick loved people, and wanted everyone to be treated equally, with dignity and respect. That respect translated to all living things; including plants, animals and the planet earth. His interests, hobbies and work reflected his deep connection to the natural world and the people in it.  Rick did what he could to contribute to the well-being of those who crossed his path, whether they were family, friends, students or people he encountered in his day.
