Robert (Bob) Deschaine, born March 15, 1941, passed away at Mass General Hospital Friday, November 7, 2025 following his courageous battle with lung cancer.  His zeal for life and his love of family and friends served as his fierce armor to live through his diagnosis with dignity and independence so he could be there for them for as long as possible.  Most of all he did his best to provide his dear wife, Gloria with the best life she could ever experience through her battle with Alzheimer's.  Gloria predeceased her loving husband on September 18, 2025.

Bob was born in Waterbury, CT to his parents Ludger Deschaine and Carmen Chasse Deschaine.  He was the eldest, and only son of their four children.

Bob attended Crosby High School while living in Waterbury.  Shortly after he moved with his parents and siblings to Wolcott, CT, he joined the Air Force stationed at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee Massachusetts where he met the love of his life, Gloria. They married on April 28, 1962 and celebrated 63 years of marriage in April.  When he retired from serving his country, they moved to Gloria's hometown in Claremont, NH where they raised their three sons, Richard, Thomas, and James. Bob worked at Howe Motors for nearly 40 years where he became a master technician and eventually the service manager, building a very loyal clientele along the way. Because of is skillfulness at his position he many times was awarded the Service Manager's Award which afforded he and Gloria the opportunity to travel around the world.

Not only was Bob a loving and caring husband to Gloria to the most extreme sense, he also was the guiding light to his sons Rick, Tom, and Jim. He shared his enthusiasm of all things technical and motorized and enjoyed teaching his boys  all about how things worked. He was the ultimate "motorcycle dad" starting the boys riding mini bikes and eventually moving them up to full size motorcycles all they while teaching how to work on and maintain them. The love and interest of technical things he shared still resides in each of his sons today.

Among friends and family Bob was the first one called upon to help solve a problem or fix something.

Bob and Gloria enjoyed boating on Lake Sunapee, traveling in their truck camper to many states in the US and Canada to stay in touch with family and friends and also to enjoy the many beautiful sights. Bob had a special place in his heart for his dogs who accompanied them on all their travels. He also designed and built a beautiful fish pond where he provided a home for many colorful koi and gold fish. He loved sitting by his pond. Over the past twenty plus years they enjoyed spending their winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL in their RV where they made many lifelong friends from the US and Canada.  He and Gloria enjoyed cruising on their motorcycle, singing karaoke, and being the designated "Mayor" of his campground arranging many get togethers, and helping out where there was a need. He will be missed by so many lifelong friends there.

Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Gloria, his parents Ludger and Carmen Deschaine and in-laws Victor and Helena Baron.

He was deeply loved by his three sons Rick, Tom, and Jim and their wives Patty, Diana, and Cindy.  He was proud to be Pepere to his grandchildren Michael, Megan, Logan, Melissa, Jenna, Mathew and Mitchell as well as his great grandchildren Lincoln, Mila, and Adeline. He was big brother to his sisters, Judy Johnson, Rita Deschaine, and Diane Stone. He was a caring brother-in-law to Phyllis Merek and Richard Baron

Rest in peace dear Bob. You will be greatly missed by so many. You have left us a loving legacy on how to live life to the fullest and how to be the best son, husband, father, brother, relative, and friend. We thank you for all that you have done for us! You will always be impressed on our hearts.
