Robert "Buzz" Willey, of Charlestown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care in Dartmouth New Hampshire.  Born on December 9, 1943, in Windsor, Vermont, he was the son of Irma and Neil "Red" Willey.

Buzz attended Windsor High School, where he was a dedicated and talented athlete. He competed in downhill skiing, swim team, springboard diving, football and baseball, and was a proud member of the 1960 championship baseball team—an accomplishment he carried with pride throughout his life.

He spent his career as a skilled machine mechanic. Outside of his profession, Buzz built a life centered around community, connection, and family in Charlestown, New Hampshire, alongside his beloved wife, Laura. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and golfing—activities that brought him both relaxation and "joy".

Buzz was an avid sports fan, and had a deep passion for coaching, especially Legion Baseball. He was more than just a coach—he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady presence for countless young athletes both on and off the field. His impact extended far beyond the game, shaping lives through encouragement, guidance, and genuine care.

Known for his friendly nature, Buzz had a gift for making connections wherever he went. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and quickly turn strangers into friends. His warmth, sense of humor, and easygoing spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Buzz will be remembered for his love of sports, his dedication to mentoring others, and his ability to bring people together. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his kindness, coaching, and friendship.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; his stepson, Cliff LaVanture and his wife, Morgan; His sister in-law Luanne and John Lariviere, Brother in-law Harold and Claire Smith, sister in-law Micki Smith. His children, son, Robert Willey Jr. his wife, Sarah, and grandchildren, Traynor and Sumner; and his daughter, Karen Schippert and grandson Koleman; his brother, Allen Willey and Sister, Annette Farnsworth; as well as an ex spouse Judith Topolski, many cousins, nieces and nephews whose lives and accomplishments he loved to follow and celebrate.

He was predeceased by his loving parents; his sisters, Virginia Smith and Joanne Noel; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rodney Anderson; his brother-in-law, Larry Smith; and his dearly loved daughter, Amy Caudill, whose spirit and memory lives on through her children, Calleigh Caudill and Jessica Douglas, her husband Nick and great grandchildren Charlotte and Parker.

Buzz will be deeply remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. In true Buzz fashion, may we all take a moment to strike up a conversation, share a story, and carry his warmth forward.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
