Roger A. Hamel, 97, of Claremont, NH passed away on September 15, 2024, at Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH.

He was born in Claremont, NH on September 26, 1926, the son of Joseph and Delima (Parent) Hamel.

Roger was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy.

He worked as a Head of maintenance for Valley Regional Hospital until his retirement.

After retiring Roger worked for many years at the Claremont Airport as head of maintenance and assistant manager. Roger also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his son, Robert Hamel; two grandsons, Shawn Hamel and Michael Hamel; great granddaughters, Samantha Miller, Alyssa Hamel and Morgan Hamel; niece, Susan Leech; great great grandsons, Kamden and Easton Howe.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Lacasse) Hamel whom he married on July 27, 1946, and she passed away on January 24, 2016; daughter in law, Patricia Hamel and granddaughter, Rebecca Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph Church, Elm Street in Claremont on Friday, September 20th at 10AM. A burial will follow in West Claremont Burying Ground.
