Stephen Paul Raymond Sr., 74, of Claremont died June 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was married to his beloved wife, Debra Abbey (Raymond), for 54 wonderful years. Together they built a strong and loving family, raising their children Stephen Raymond II and his wife Missy, Amy Vashaw and her husband Henry, Melissa Raymond, and Lyn Klibansky and her husband Michael—all of Claremont.

Stephen was a proud grandfather to Sammantha Chermely and husband Tyler of Keene, Jordan Vashaw and Myleigha Roman of Claremont, Peter Raymond of Claremont, Stephen Raymond III of Boston, MA, RJ Raymond of Claremont, Matthew Garrison and wife Leticia of Wethersfield, CT, and Gabe Wyman of WRJ, VT. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Ivy Jane Chermely.

He is survived by his siblings Bonnie Boardman and Linda Duquette of Claremont, Cathy Raymond of New York, and Roy Raymond Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Roy Raymond Sr.; brothers Rodney and Alan Raymond; and sister Mary Lee.

Stephen retired from Joy Foundry after many dedicated years of hard work. He found peace and joy in his flower gardens and treasured every moment spent with his family. His faithful dog, Daisy Mae, was always by his side.

Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday, June 6th from 3 to 5 p.m. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, June 7th at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery. A potluck reception will take place at the Elks Club immediately after the graveside service, where family and friends are welcome to gather and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice in gratitude for their compassionate care.

Stephen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
