In the early morning of May 6, 2024, Suzan Marie Cressman passed away due to complications from pneumonia. She was newly 66 years old at the time of her passing.

Suzan was born April 22, 1958 in Norwich, CT however she spent the majority of her youth in Old Lyme, CT. Suzan relocated to the Upper Valley area in the late 90's and fell in love with the area - despite being terrified of driving in the snow.

Because of her lifelong call to assist others her career was largely spent in different roles within the disability community - including being a paraprofessional at Newport Middle High School and a long-time Direct Support provider with Pathways.

In her free time she deeply enjoyed crafting, turning her creativity into a side business for many years. She also loved spending time outside in her garden and couldn't say no to a new flower.

Suzan is preceded in death by her loving parents, Dirk and Vera Gazing of Old Lyme, as well as her beloved in-laws, Tillman and Sal Cressman of Claremont. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Cressman of Claremont, and her three children, Jennifer, Kristen and David, as well as her many dearly beloved grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews and close friends.

There will be a visiting hour for family and friends at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont on May 18th, 2024 from 2:00-3:00PM followed by a sermon by Pastor Cindy Hutchings.
