Vera Eva Johnson died on Thanksgiving Day November 24, 2022 in Claremont NH at Valley Regional Hospital at the age of 86. She was born in Hartford Vermont to Florestine Coté Stone and Lawrence Edward Stone and grew up in the Hartford and White River Junction with her 7 sisters and 2 brothers. On December 8, 1957 she married Alfred Roy Johnson. Together they ran Johnson Oil and Supply on Main Street in Claremont and had 3 children, Tinker, Ann, and Andy.

Vera loved gardening, singing, watching and talking to the birds, and reading - especially cook books. Among her favorite activities were going to yard sales and shopping with family, attending the Boston Flower Show, and helping at the Gingerbread House Decorating event at Union Church.

Vera is survived by children Alfred "Tinker" Johnson Jr, Ann Richmond (Daniel), and Andrew Johnson; her grandchildren Melissa Richmond, James Richmond, Brian Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Kimmy McCall, and Timothy Weatherford; and her siblings Rena, Claire, Rita, Edward, and Leo. She is predeceased by her husband Alfred, and her sisters Dorothy, Rose, Yvonne, and Jane.

A graveside ceremony will be held in spring 2023 at Mountain View Cemetery with a reception to follow at Union Episcopal Church.
