It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wesley C. Plant, 80, of Paddy Hollow Rd in Claremont, NH on Sunday, morning February 18, 2024

Wes was born and raised in Long Island, NY on August 14, 1943, the son of James G. and Ruth (Combs) Plant before relocating with his family to Grantham, NH where he met the love of his life, Jane "Mongeon" Plant.  The pair spent 60+ years happily married.

Wes was a proud truck driver for St. Johnsbury and APA trucking before retiring and becoming a beloved bus driver for the Claremont and Fall Mountain School districts for many years.

Wes loved his clubs. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 808, the Elks Lodge #879, the Moose of Sebastian, FL Lodge 1767 as well as a member of the American Legion Post 29. His hobbies included being a Yankees fan, NASCAR and any type of racing and Sunday drives with Jane.  They loved to travel and visit family in NY, SC and FL.

Above all else, Wes loved being with his family. From the day the grandbabies came into his life, he never missed an event, always signing up to drive bus for their games or other activities.  He was their #1 fan.  This carried over into their adulthood, never missing a slow-pitch softball game, recitals and games for the great grand-babies and one of our most treasured memories, karaoke nights.

Wes is survived by his children Janice R. Laplante, Susan J. (Craig) Ohlson, Wesley N. (Tad Blackington) Plant, Sharon J. (Mark) Chase; Grandchildren, Matthew (Christen) Laplante, Scott (Samantha) Laplante, Danielle (Shane) Bilodeau, Joshua Beliveau, Stefan Beliveau, Courtney Chase, and Katelyn Chase; sister, Phyllis Scrodin; 10 great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jane K. Plant, great grandsons Braden C. Beliveau and Kai Chase; Sisters Lillian (Charlie) Chapman, Shirley (Tony) Parisi, Emma (Henry) Cagle, Betty Ann (Rhody) Moultin and brother James (Edie) Plant.

Friends may call at Stringers Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Thursday, February 22nd from 5-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary 808 in Claremont, NH.
